Pomodoro like a Pro and get Coached by Ai !

So Guys……

This week has been tough in terms of achieving my goals. What was holding back my productivity?

A lack of focus! This challenge is particularly difficult to manage when working remotely on my business. The constant urge to get another glass of water, watch just one more TikTok video, or even “productively” procrastinate by cleaning the house can be overwhelming.

Unfortunately, by the end of the day, I’m left with urgent tasks still unfinished, forcing me to work late into the night on adrenaline and not giving my best.

One technique that has significantly helped me improve my focus and productivity is the Pomodoro Technique.

So this concept isn’t new to many but in summary how does it work?

The Pomodoro Technique involves working in focused intervals called "Pomodoros," typically lasting 25 minutes, followed by a short break of about 5 minutes.

After completing four Pomodoros, take a longer break of 15-30 minutes. This method helps to maintain a high level of concentration by breaking work into manageable intervals and providing regular breaks to rest and recharge.

So what are its benefits:

  • Improved Focus: By committing to work for just 25 minutes, it's easier to avoid distractions and stay concentrated on the task at hand.

  • Regular Breaks: The scheduled breaks prevent burnout and keep your mind fresh, enhancing overall productivity.

  • Better Time Management: This technique helps in breaking down tasks into smaller chunks, making them more manageable and less overwhelming.

How did I implement this technique efficiently?

Set goals or a task list : For each task I set the number of Pomodoro sessions required to complete

Set a Timer: I set a timer to track my intervals. You can leverage the technology of free apps like paymo or youtube videos available to help you with this process, or you can simply use your phone’s timer.

Single Task Focus: During each Pomodoro, I focused on only one task.  I tried my best to avoid multitasking as it can reduce your efficiency.

Religiously take Short Breaks: After each Pomodoro, I took a 5-minute break. I Used this time to stretch, grab a drink, or simply relax.

Longer Breaks: After completing four Pomodoros, I took a longer break of 30 minutes to recharge before starting the next cycle.

By incorporating the Pomodoro Technique into my work routine, I’ve found that my focus has improved, and I’m able to complete tasks more efficiently significantly improving my task completion rate, from an average of 45% to 80%. If you struggle with maintaining concentration like me, give this method a try – it might just be the productivity boost you need! I’d love to personally hear how it went so kindly let me know 😅

 My Favorite Things this Week🤩🤩🤩🤩

1. Podcast - AI Meets Productivity. So, this week I decided to change things up a bit. I often feel like I'm not fully utilizing ChatGPT, kinda like having a sports car that I only drive with the handbrake on. So, I turned to Google for some help. I came across the AI Meets Productivity podcast, hosted weekly by Trevor Lohrbeer, a productivity expert. This week, I listened to the episode called “The 36 Ways I Use ChatGPT,” and I found it quite interesting.

In this episode, Trevor engages ChatGPT in a conversation, exploring various ways he uses it and letting ChatGPT respond to his methods. It felt like having a conversation with a very smart partner who reviews your approach and offers alternate views on how to improve or think about things in new and fresh ways. I walked away with new tricks to try and a fresh perspective on how to best use ChatGPT going forward.Give the podcast a listen, and if you find anything useful, please do share!

2. Article - How to be More Productive. The Eisenhower Box (or matrix) is a classic tool for managing tasks. It organizes tasks into four categories: urgent and important (do immediately), important but not urgent (schedule for later), urgent but not important (delegate), and neither urgent nor important (eliminate). James Clear offers one of the clearest J explanations I’ve come across for using the Eisenhower Box in his article.

3.      Video – So, I’ve been watching and re-watching this AI-generated clips like this one and this one, and wow, it’s crazy how much AI has advanced in just the past year! The clarity of the images and the balance of the elements—it doesn’t even feel artificial anymore. It’s mind-blowing to think this is just the beginning.

Thanks for catching up.
